Fun fact about your music:
Edem: This is Brett and my 3rd or 4th iteration of working together. We’ve always received critical acclaim, but nothing like this. But what matters is KinderCrowdControl music is really resonating with listeners from across the globe! We are mano-a-mano with the greatest names in music today. And loving it! (Anyone get that reference?)
Brett: Edem and I have recorded over 100 pieces of music together, and are still going.
Fun fact about you personally:
Edem: Haven’t changed much throughout the years; still loving guitar, contemporary music, and art. On that note, I was recently invited to join an art workshop in Poland; I’m thinking this trip may have to be postponed…
I’m appreciating more and more music as the years go by too. No preconceptions. Are you listening to Ron? Ha!
Brett: I began playing music at the age of 8.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned through music that you apply to your life?
Edem: No preconceptions and PATIENCE. The Chinese have a philosophy called “the final inch”; it centers around the idea that, though you think you’re finished with a task, going the “final inch” is what nails it. I apply this to our music, and life’s many required tasks. Also collaboration. Objective opinions from others are crucial to reflecting on projects, whatever they may be.
Brett: To understand that music is a commodity, just like anything else, and that in order to be successful you need to craft music that someone else wants to buy. This is the way it is.
Changing perspectives can be hard, what perspective change have you had to make in order to become a persevering artist?
Edem: Having patience. Enjoy the day. Enjoy the journey. The end result is personal satisfaction; that’s all that is guaranteed. With love and hard work, anything is possible.
Brett: We shifted our creative process to focus on the quality of the final product rather than each individual performance. What do I mean by this? Suffice to say that we became acutely focused on what comes out of 2 simple speakers at the end is what’s most important.
What is your success based on?
Edem: Perseverance. Can’t emphasize this more. Be yourself, love what you do, do it well, and keep doing it. As the LA poet Charles Bukowski’s epitaph reads: Don’t TRY.
Brett: To keep moving forward. To keep writing and recording.
How do you base yourself when you think about all the progress you’ve made?
Edem: Looking back, taking stock, and SEEING (not looking) that everything, both the perceived good and bad, are necessary steps along the road.
Brett: …then working forward into the unknown and taking it all in for what it truly is: a magnificently magical musical journey.
Making a mark in music is what all artists dream of, how are you staying true to that mission?
Edem: Every success that comes our way stems from keeping KinderCrowdControl music true to ourselves. Being unique and reveling in that distinction. This has been our strength throughout Brett and my musical journey. Everything else is out of our control. Being aware of this detail is important. We’d rather belong to great new music than any particular style or genre. Being good Musicians over stars, if you will.
Brett: We’ve never wanted to follow in the footsteps of others. Our journey is our own. Why pattern yourself based on someone else’s sound when consumers will simply purchase the original instead of the copy. We learned this very early in our career.
More music, more you is what the music needs! Tell us about your latest project!
Edem: Thank you for saying so! We are currently tackling the last 2 movements in the 7-part opus Sandra Ban tasked us with last year. So far we have released “Yes”, “Atomic Tango” (2 movements in one song), and “FREEKA!”… check them out. All part of Sandra’s fine art performance centered around peace, love, respect, and harmonious coexistence. Yeah, we’re dusting off these concepts!
Brett: Definitely check out “Yes”, “Atomic Tango”, and “FREEKA!”. All are part of the project we’ve been working on for Sandra. We should be releasing a video soon for “FREEKA!” so be on the lookout for that too.
What was a fear of yours that you overcame through working on this project?
Edem: To quote our recently passed friend and vocalist in Landscape Of Sound, Jesse Rodriguez, “Don’t Get Scared”. Brett and I embrace challenges. No fear.
Brett: Although, our biggest fear is losing our digital files; we’ve been triple copying everything so that technology won’t fail us. Plus, we release each piece of this project as a single rather than waiting for all 7 parts to be finished.
Give us important dates to keep in our calendar with anything that is coming up for YOU!
Edem: “Electric Sheep” is coming out any day now. It may be out when this interview is live. Go to: kindercrowdcontrol.bandcamp.com This track kicks hard! Definitely timely during these days of scrutiny on Social Media and its role in everyday life and messaging.
Brett: We’re on an aggressive schedule to release something new every month. Keep your ears open!
Right here and Right NOW! Claim something you’re about to take over for the rest of the year!
Edem: The World!
Brett: There’s nothing off the table. I originally thought of stating “Bikini Bottom”, but then realized Plankton has already tried.
